Franchir le vide – À vélo et à pied

Ney & Partners

The exhibition echoes the new book by architect and engineer Laurent Ney “Bridging”. The particular design processes of twenty-one pedestrian and cycling bridges, carried out with its design office Ney & Partners, are presented. Each project reveals the complexity of the engineering structures. They illustrate how, thanks to an integral vision of architecture and engineering, such objects can be significantly integrated into our traditions.

In addition, six photographs by artist Toshio Shibata and photographers Stijn Bollaert, Steve Troes and Momoko show in detail these works of art, and show how the user appropriates them as objects of his daily life.

Finally, the film 'De Lentloper' draws a portrait of a bridge, a poetic look that highlights how time, nature and man take charge of everything.
