Katrien Vandermarliere

The oeuvre of Marie-José Van Hee developed from the middle of the 1980s in Brussels and Flanders. Against the background of an emancipating building culture that arose in Flanders through private engagement and supported by cultural organisations such as SAM (Stichting Architectuurmuseum / Architecture Museum Foundation) and the deSingel arts centre, the emergent work of the architect was already becoming noticed from an early stage. The establishment of her own office only came about after a rich practical experience gained through various collaborations with, amongst others, Groep Planning, landscape architect Paul De Roose and architect Johan Van Dessel. Designing together with Paul Robbrecht and sharing a common office with Robbrecht en Daem architecten, is a constant that extends back over a period of more than 25 years and continues to this day...
